Description

Prepare for an exquisite escape into the heart of the Langhe, where the world-renowned wine regions of Barolo and Barbaresco unfold before you. Your itinerary includes an exclusive opportunity to delve into the secrets of winemaking with visits to two exceptional estates, each offering a final, luxurious tasting of their premium vintages. Round off your memorable day with a delightful stroll through the ancient, charming streets of Alba, proudly known as the gastronomic capital of Piedmont.

Get ready to explore the enchanting Langhe region! Picture this: a stunning tapestry of roads winding through rolling hills, the birthplace of Piedmont's most celebrated wines. We're talking Barolo, the "king of wines," alongside its equally impressive siblings like Barbaresco, Barbera, and Dolcetto. Every village here seems to have its own charming manor or castle, nestled amongst vineyards and hazelnut groves – it's a truly picturesque landscape. And then there's Alba, the vibrant heart of the Langhe, a town famed for its medieval towers, fortress-like houses, and its irresistible appeal to foodies – think white truffles and, of course, Nutella! Your adventure begins with a comfortable ride from your Turin hotel in a private Mercedes vehicle, accompanied by your personal guide and driver. We're off to discover the magic of the Langhe wine district! Our first destination is Barbaresco. Crafted from the same Nebbiolo grape as Barolo, Barbaresco offers a more elegant and aromatic experience, while still boasting impressive power and aging potential. We'll visit a family-run winery, tucked away in one of the four villages permitted to produce this exceptional wine: Barbaresco, Neive, Treiso, or San Rocco Seno D'Elvio. Get ready for a tour of the cellars, culminating in a delightful wine tasting. Before we move on to Alba, take a stroll along the charming, narrow streets of Barbaresco, leading to the imposing square tower, a relic from the late 11th century, built to defend the village from invaders. Next, we arrive in Alba, a true haven for food lovers and arguably the culinary capital of Piedmont. It's renowned for its exquisite white truffles and Nutella, the world-famous chocolate and hazelnut spread invented here by Mr. Ferrero back in 1964. Alba is also known as the "city of a hundred towers" and hosts the International White Truffle Festival every weekend from early October to early December. You'll have some free time to enjoy lunch in town (at your own expense). Our final stop takes us to the Barolo production area, just south of Alba. Barolo, made entirely from the Nebbiolo grape, can only be produced in eleven designated villages. The most famous five are La Morra, Barolo, Monforte d'Alba, Serralunga d'Alba, and Castiglione Falletto. We'll visit a Barolo-producing winery in one of these villages for a final wine tasting before we start our journey back to Turin in the afternoon.
