Description
This Reggia di Venaria Reale guided tour from Turin lasts about three hours and takes you to the summer residence of the Savoy family, a palace modelled on Versailles. A live guide walks with you, and a small snack is part of the outing.
The building began as a hunting lodge for Carlo Emanuele II of Savoy, and wide Italianate gardens spread around it. Down in the basements a historical exhibition follows the story of the dynasty, while the upper floors are given to changing exhibitions, so what you see can differ from one visit to the next.
- The royal palace and its Italianate gardens
- The historical exhibition on the Savoy
- Changing exhibitions on the upper floors
- A small snack
Entrance tickets are not included, so plan for them separately. The guide offers suggestions but you choose what to see and do, so the pace is yours to set. The visit is not recommended for pregnant women.
