Description
A cheese tasting in Turin is a good way to meet Piedmont through what its dairies make. The hour is spent inside a historic cheese shop, with cheeses made in Piedmont, chosen by the shop and each tied to the region's culinary heritage.
A host opens the session by talking you through the origins and character of the cheeses. After that the pace is yours: you taste on your own, taking as long as you like over each piece and comparing one against the next, with water and a glass of good regional wine alongside.
- a curated selection of Piedmontese cheeses
- a glass of local wine to go with them
- water
- the host's explanation of each cheese
The experience lasts about an hour and is meant for everyone, from food lovers to people who already know their cheeses well. Transport to the shop, additional food and drinks and a private guide are not part of it. Children who do not like cheese can be offered a dessert or something of equal value instead.
