Description
This bike tour with lunch in Turin begins in the city centre, where you climb onto an old-style Italian city bike and set off with a guide. First come the key sites, with explanations of Piazza Castello, the Mole Antonelliana and Superga, before the ride turns to Turin's green side.
Dedicated cycle paths follow three of the city's four rivers, revealing green corners of the city that few visitors know. The route is about 16 km on flat ground, is not challenging and suits all levels of fitness, as long as you are comfortable on a bike.
The reward is a meal at La Piòla d'le 2 Sörele, an old piola out of the centre that generations of Torinese have loved. Expect traditional dishes, generous and filling:
- a pasta course
- a secondo of meat or fish with a side dish
- dessert, bread, wine and a coffee to finish
Afterwards you ride back to the centre. Bike, helmet, locks and insurance are provided, and the helmet must be worn. The menu is seasonal and heavy on meat and cheese, so vegetarians and vegans may have few choices. The tour runs in English and takes about three hours.
