Description
The alpaca experience at the Turin educational farm brings you face to face with animals that originally come from the Andes, a short distance from Turin. An expert guide greets you and starts with a short introduction to their origins, their characteristics and a few fun facts about farm life.
Then you step into the enclosure, where the guide walks you through how to approach the alpacas, how to stroke them and how to read the behaviour that makes each one different. You also hear why their fibre is so prized.
- Feeding the alpacas from the bowls provided
- Time for stroking, observing and taking photos and selfies
- A look at how the alpacas fit into a social farm project that stands for sustainability, animal welfare and inclusion
The visit lasts about an hour, in English or Italian. It works for families, couples, friends travelling together and school groups looking for a simple, green break from the city. The Monviso alpaca project comes from GROW UP Impresa Sociale Agricola.
