Description
Turin boasts a Puppet Museum that is undoubtedly among the largest in Italy. It houses, in the exhibition halls annexed to the Teatro Gianduja, the relics of the Lupi family, a famous dynasty of puppeteers, active in Turin for over two centuries and still delighting young and old with their string puppet shows.
Descending for a visit to the basement of the church of Santa Teresa, which, after repeated and profound renovations, houses the Theater and Museum in an organic and functional complex, reserves a delightful surprise. Hundreds of puppets are on display, from the most precious, almost two centuries old, to the most recent, made in the early decades of the 20th century.
