Palazzo Cavour is one of the best examples of Piedmontese Baroque architecture of the eighteenth century and it is also one of the most important historical buildings in Turin. It was in this building and within its rooms that the famous statesman, Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, lived for most of his life. 

The newspaper "il Risorgimento" was founded here and the most eminent figures of the day met to discuss and realise the fate of the new country of Italy. Palazzo Cavour was built in 1729 by the Turin engineer Giovanni Giacomo Gerolamo Plantery (c. 1680 - 1756).

It has recently been restored by the Piedmont Region and is now their principal seat with a prestigious exhibition hall which hosts the region's most important initiatives.
