Description
A Segway tour of Turin and Valentino Park covers far more ground than a walk would in two and a half hours. The tour is private, with a licensed professional guide, and both the Segway and a helmet are provided.
The ride starts along Via Lagrange and reaches Piazza San Carlo, the first of the major squares on the route. From there you glide on to the middle of town and then to Piazza Carignano, a Baroque square.
- Piazza Castello, central to Turin, with palaces, one of them royal
- Piazza Carignano, a Baroque jewel
- The Mole Antonelliana, built in the eclectic style
- Porta Palatina, the city's most important archaeological monument and once a gate in its defensive walls
- Valentino Park and the church of Gran Madre di Dio
Along the way the guide fills in the city's history, including the fact that Turin has the world's first Egyptian museum and how it looked in Roman times.
Food, drinks and hotel pickup are not included. The tour is a poor fit for pregnant women, people over 60, or anyone under 45 kg or over 120 kg. It may be run by a multilingual guide.
