Description

This vermouth tasting in Turin serves two vermouth cocktails and a platter of cold cuts and cheese, close to the Egyptian Museum, with the story of the drink.

Vermouth tasting in Turin means going to the source: this flavoured wine was born in the city in 1786, and a wine bar within easy reach of the Egyptian Museum shows how modern mixology reinvents it. It makes a stylish pause in a day of sightseeing.

Over about 90 minutes you drink two cocktails picked from a list devoted to Vermouth di Torino. The choice runs from the Americano and the Negroni to house creations. Between sips you hear the history of the drink and see how red, white or dry styles find their balance with spirits and bitters.

The aperitivo comes with plenty to eat:

  • a board of cold cuts
  • local cheeses
  • a few snacks
  • mineral water

Extra drinks and bottles bought at the shop are not included, nor is the museum ticket. The bar asks guests to mention any food intolerances or allergies in advance. Only adults get alcohol; younger guests are offered drinks without it. Choose it if you want an aperitivo with a story rather than just a drink.
